School Community

Governing Council

Parent membership of the Governing Council or School Board is decided by nomination and ballot at the Annual General Meeting that is held in term 1 of each year. The School Board meets on the first Monday of each Month. Meetings are held in the utility room and commence at 6.30pm.

The Carnarvon Christian School Board is responsible for governing the school and ensuring the school’s vision is maintained.

The responsibilities of the governing body include:

• maintaining a satisfactory standard of education and satisfactory level of care for students who are enrolled at non-government schools;
• accounting for the quality of the educational programs which they provide;
• accounting for the use of public funds received; and
• fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders such as parents and students by ensuring transparency of information about finances, policies, strategic goals and governance
• maintaining the ‘sufficiency of the school’s financial resources

Christian Pastoral Support Worker

CCS has a part-time school chaplain. The chaplain is available to speak with students, teachers and Parents/Carers .

Fundraising

At present CCS does not run a P & C. Committees are formed when fundraising events are carried out.

Sport

Upon enrolment families are allocated into one of 3 factions; Green, Blue and Red.

CCS has its own Swimming and Athletics Carnivals each year and also competes in the Interschool carnivals. An annual Interschool Cross country race is held in 2nd term each year. Other interschool sporting events include: an annual lightening carnival (netball, soccer, afl), and a cricket round robin.

CCS is a Sporting School. For 7 weeks each term, an After School Sports Programme is offered to students at the school.

We are fortunate to have current and former players from the AFL, WAFL, WA Netball, Athletics, Soccer, W.A. Squash Association and W.A. Cricket Association visit the school on a yearly or bi-yearly basis.

OSH

The Deputy Principal is responsible for OSH at CCS.

Student Leaders

Year six students apply for leadership positions each year. Endorsement to the role is decided by ballot which students and staff participate.
